New Year’s Day. A fresh start.
A new chapter in life waiting to be written.
New questions to be asked, embraced, and loved.
Answers to be discovered and
then lived in this transformative year
of delight and self-discovery.
Today carve out a quiet interlude
for yourself in which to dream, pen in hand.
Only dreams give birth to change.
~ Sarah Ban Breathnach

I love that quote from Sarah Breathnach. It provides such guidance and encouragement to start the year new and refreshed. So I once again pick up my “pen” and put words together and will attempt to blog again about this and that… and to start are words that I shared on another forum…
As 2017 begins, we find life and the world in a precarious balance – the political scene in many countries struggling; terrorist activities still at play; war tearing apart lands; anger and discord abound. It is a struggle to find our own personal peace within during times such as these. But it is important that we strive for positivity; that we peer through the clouds for something that makes us smile. Maybe it is the puppy at your feet or the little child down the street or is it a smile from a stranger or even an agreement with an enemy? We need to do better, be better and help our children, family, friends and those we mentor follow in the steps of positive approach. When someone says something negative about a gender, a race, a sexual preference, an immigrant – try to diffuse the negativity and move the needle to a more proactive and equal position. We will never agree with everyone’s opinion but shouldn’t we open our minds, ears and perhaps our hearts to try to understand why there is a difference of opinion? We should strive to find our own peace amongst the chaos. As the golden rule says – “do unto others as you would have them do unto you” (Matt. 7:12).
I wish each and every one of you a blessed 2017 – a year that you find happiness and love; a year where you achieve your goals – big and small; a year that allows you to overcome the low times and find the good each time. Find your peace and surround yourself with those that compliment and help you be better.
